Music Builds Community

Caravanserai provide access to classical music for the whole family. You can enjoy classical music your way at our interactive concerts. Passionate about building community, our chamber ensemble and orchestra promote music education by giving family-friendly and sensory-friendly concerts.

Our Mission: Caravanserai brings people together through shared emotional connection to classical music by providing equitable access to classical music for families with young children and vulnerable communities. We believe in promoting empathy through listening to classical music and listening to others in need. The emotional empathy inspired by music helps us see more similarity between us and others so we are more likely to act compassionately towards each other.

Online Interactive Concert and Conversation

Caravanserai Music and the Shenandoah LGBTQ Center invite you to join us for a presentation of music, poetry, artwork followed by conversation.

Part I. Experience what rejection and acceptance sound like in a performance of Arnold Schoenberg's Transfigured Night and share your reaction to the art work if you choose to.

Part 2. Participate in the conversation (or just listen) about how the themes of rejection and acceptance apply to the LGBTQ community.

We invite you to watch the Transfigured Night poem recited with art work and music that inspired the project and share your response with us on June 27.
